be ample parking and toilet facilities. |
| • |
A small marquee will be provided
for storage of kit, changing and registrations. |
| • |
Registration will be from 9.00-10.00am.
The race starts at 10.30am. |

any specific changes that have to be made on the
day. |
| |
| Canoe Section |
| • |
All competitors are to compete
in Canadian Canoes only. We are stipulating this
to avoid some competitors with a super fast kayak
having an unfair advantage. |
| • |
You can use your own Canadian
Canoe OR use one supplied by us – please make
this clear on the entry form. |
| • |
Competitors using a Canadian
Canoe supplied by Cairngorm Adventure Triathlon
will also be provided with buoyancy aids and paddles. |
| • |
Competitors using their own Canadian
Canoe must supply their own buoyancy aids and paddles |
| • |
You do not have to be a particularly
experienced canoeist, however in the unlikely event
that you fall in the loch, we insist that you are
able to swim 50 meters. |
| • |
In the unlikely event that conditions
on the loch are too choppy/windy for the canoe section
to take place with a reasonable degree of safety,
the canoe section will be cancelled and the event
will become a Duathlon. The final decision on safety
matters rests with Cairngorm Adventure Triathlon
and Loch Morlich Watersports. |
| |
| Bike Section |
| • |
All competitors must supply their
own mountain bike. |
| • |
There will be a designated, supervised
area for bikes to be left during the event. |
| • |
It is YOUR responsibility to
ensure that your bike is in safe working order. |
| • |
All competitors should carry
small multi tool, puncture repair kit or spare inner
tube. |
| • |
All competitors must wear a recognised
bike helmet. |
| • |
The bike section is not technically
difficult, however there is one fairly fast, bumpy
downhill section – expect loose stones, water,
mud, overhanging branches and sharp turns. |
| • |
The road section is on a fairly
quiet B road, (this will NOT be closed to road traffic,
‘caution bikers’ signs will be in place)
however please keep in single file – there
are several blind bends on this route. Passing competitors
is of course allowed, however drafting is not. |
| • |
Please obey marshals’ instructions
at all times. Be particularly careful at the two
road crossing points at Glenmore and Coylumbridge. |
| |
| Run Section |
| • |
A straightforward trail run on
the forestry tracks surrounding Loch Morlich. |
| • |
Standard running shoes or trail
shoes would be most suitable footwear. |
|
| The Finish Line |
| • |
On Loch Morlich beach, close
to the Transition area. |
| • |
Please make sure your race number
is visible! |
