Race Report 2007
“What an excellent day out, thank you.” - Kelda Spratt

This sums up the many comments we have received about the triathlon. Conditions were almost perfect – with a flat calm loch, ensuring that even those with limited experience in a canoe managed to complete the 3.2km course in under 40 minutes. Most enjoyed the challenging but not too technical mountain bike course and the 5km run was followed by well earned burger and coffee.

We are delighted that local snowboarder Angus Leith was able to take time out from training to give out prizes. All proceeds from the event will go towards helping him achieve his goal of competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Numerous local businesses and landowners helped make the CAT happen. Keith and team at Loch Morlich Watersports, Glenmore Lodge, Spey Valley Hire, Badaguish, Bothy Bikes, Cairngorm Mountain Sports, Carrbridge Community Council, Boat of Garten Hall Committee, St Andrews First Aid, Forest Enterprise, Pityoulish Estate and Rothiemurchus Estate.

Thanks also to the team of Marshalls who ensured nobody got lost! Above all thank yourselves for entering and making it such a fun filled event.

We will email all 07 participants when entries open for 08. In the meantime here are a few more comments from this year’s participants. Happy training!!

“Thanks for a great day on Saturday. It really was an excellent event and our families had a great time!!“ - Mark and Jonny Hilditch
“The organising was spot on. I can't think of anything that could have been done
any better. Well done and a BIG THANKYOU to everyone who had a hand in
making it such a fantastic day.”
“I'll definitely be putting my name down for another go next year.” - Mike Maskrey
“Frustratingly I got a puncture not long into the bike section but had my spirits lifted as everyone who cycled past (and I was wresting with the damn tyre a good while!) offered help and shouts of encouragement. This really captured the spirit of the event for me, along with the friendliness of the marshals. The free burger and tea was a very welcome surprise as well!” - Jon Elliot
